Lacquer pipette for stone impact The method of repairing stone chips with a paint pipette was developed by the car and is absolutely new. All previous possibilities to fix the typical stone impact on bonnet and stem, bring no really satisfactory result. The innovation in this area is the paint pipette.
An exact dosage is possible through the tiny opening of the pipette (0.2 mm). The paint pipette is offered in combination with the paint pen. The car uses only quality acrylic paints from Glasurit. Each color is mixed exactly according to color code according to the vehicle manufacturer and filled for you. The fast-drying acrylic paints are low in solvent (VOC), have the highest filling and covering power and excellent adhesion. Incidentally, many workshops are already working with the car paint pipette.
And this is how it works:
Remove rust
away with the rust! All loose and protruding paint and rust particles must be with a pointed object
be scraped off and removed.
Use silicone remover to thoroughly clean the damaged area of grease and silicone as well as paint and rust particles.
Apply varnish
Shake well for two minutes, the ball must audibly strike, open the screw cap, strip off the brush well and set aside.
Now the pipette comes into play. Squeeze the pipette at the top and immerse it in the vial down to the bottom.
Drain the bellows and the pipette fills with paint. The tiny opening of the pipette – 0.2 mm – allows precise metering of the amount of paint and a precise repair.
In contrast to the paint pen, the paint is not brushed, but dripped.
The crater is easily overfilled, so that the basecoat evenly distributed in the rockfall. Thus, the cracked edges are completely sealed.
A good third of the filled paint quantity is solvent and evaporates. This creates space for the final clearcoat.
Easy Repair Professional tip:
For typical rockfalls that cause deep craters, the paint pipette is ideal. The paint is not painted, but dripped and sealed so the crater air and waterproof.
Sanding and Clearcoat
Now the excess basecoat that is still on the outer edge of the crater due to the overflow must be removed. To do this, wrap the supplied abrasive wood with the appropriate water sandpaper – grit P2000. With plenty of water and light pressure, grind off the excess basecoat.
Without wood, there is a risk of removing the dripping paint in the crater.
In between, check the result again and again.
On the cleaned and dry place of the clear coat is now dripped and significantly overcrowded.
The clear coat has to fill and seal every little crack.
Attention:
Be sure to keep a dry season of two days.
The clear coat must be completely cured to allow it to grind well.
Sand and polish
This layer of protective lacquer, which has been cured for at least 2 days, is carefully removed again with plenty of water, sandpaper and water-sanding paper grade P2000 to a slightly elevated level.
This small but important overfill ensures 100% tight closure.
The surface matted by sanding is now polished several times and polished to a high gloss.
You will not always be able to make the paint damage completely invisible.
But this new repair method enables a first-class result. Not only visually perfect, but also absolutely air and waterproof. Without oxidation no oxidation – rusting is no longer possible.
